Missouri Attorney General Files Lawsuit Against Biden Administration for Accused Transporting of Illegal Immigrants to State

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is taking legal action against the Biden administration for allegedly transporting illegal immigrants to Missouri.

Bailey informed Fox News Digital that he is suing President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for failing to disclose documents related to the transportation of illegal immigrants to Missouri.

“We suspect they are intentionally flying illegal aliens from the border into our cities. I won’t allow it,” Bailey stated in a post on X.

In the lawsuit shared exclusively with Fox News Digital, Bailey claims that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has purposely delayed responding to his request for information regarding the flights to Missouri.

“This evasion violates the essence and terms of FOIA, which states that an agency should only withhold information if it ‘reasonably anticipates that disclosure would harm a protected interest’ or if ‘disclosure is prohibited by law’,” the lawsuit states.

“DHS’s failure to provide vital information has obstructed the public’s ability to exercise the rights outlined in the FOIA statute. This lack of transparency has impeded the Missouri Attorney General’s Office’s efforts to assess the extent of illegal immigration in the Show Me state,” the lawsuit elaborated.

Bailey argues that the transportation of illegal immigrants into Missouri is a matter of public interest, and the citizens have the right to be informed about these alleged activities.

The lawsuit also claims that DHS did not notify about any delays in responding to the request for documents due to “extraordinary circumstances.”

Bailey further stated that DHS has not provided any relevant records, nor proven that the requested records are exempt from disclosure. Moreover, DHS has not given any indication of when it will release the requested records, according to Bailey.

“Once again, the Biden Administration is evading and subverting the law to withhold information from the public,” Bailey asserted. “Their recent refusal to disclose details about the transport of illegal immigrants to Missouri is just the beginning.”

Bailey believes this inaction reflects a broader pattern of employing delaying tactics to avoid producing documents requested under FOIA.

“Here in Missouri, we hold wrongdoers accountable, even if it’s the federal government. I won’t rest until I uncover the truth for Missourians,” Bailey affirmed.

In June, Missouri joined forces with an 18-state coalition to sue the Biden administration over its proposal of “Circumvention of Lawful Pathways,” allowing a large number of immigrants to enter the country and gain instant work authorization and access to public benefits.

“The situation at the southern border is chaos, all thanks to Joe Biden,” Bailey previously remarked. “He’s failing to fulfill his mandated duties, so we’re taking legal action to compel him to do his job.”
