Monty the Giant Schnauzer Takes Top Honors at the 149th Westminster Dog Show

Monty, the Giant Schnauzer, finally achieved Best in Show at the 149th edition of the Westminster Dog Show at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night, winning the Working Group for the third consecutive year.

It was a tough competition with Monty facing off against seven other breeds, but this victory marked a significant milestone for both Monty and the Working Group, with their last win dating back to 2004.

Judge Paula Nykiel had the difficult task of selecting Best in Show from the outstanding field of seven dogs, ultimately choosing Monty after her ninth year judging the show.

Runner-up Bourbon the Whippet, who came out of retirement at nine years old, impressed in the Hound Group, winning Reserve Best in Show, a title he has held twice before at Westminster.
