New Patent for Nintendo Switch 2 Suggests Mouse Functionality for Upcoming Joy-Cons

Following the recent unveiling of the Switch 2 by Nintendo, noticeable features on the new Joy-Con controllers caught everyone’s attention. Recently discovered patent filings now confirm the speculations that were made.

The publicly available patents for the Switch 2’s controllers reveal that they can be used as computer mice, confirming what many had suspected. While the patent filings primarily in Japanese may not be very informative for English speakers, they include detailed drawings showing the Joy-Con being used as a mouse.
