The first piece of promotional content for MLB The Show 25 was revealed on Monday, February 3. It may have only been six screenshots, but for eager fans anticipating the game’s release, it was a tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come.
The first screenshot, which features Houston Astros’ Yordan Alvarez, is displayed above. While the overall look of the game remains familiar, improvements in lighting and shaders are evident in these new images.
Although some fans have expressed concerns about the game’s visuals, I believe that MLB The Show already boasts impressive graphics. Updating player models can have a significant impact on the overall experience of the game, especially for an annual release cycle.
While incremental visual improvements may seem minor, they contribute to the overall progression of the game. Here’s a preview of the remaining five screenshots.
MLB The Show 25 Release Date and Gameplay Trailer Info
The game is set to be released on March 18, with early access for those who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition starting on March 14. The cover athlete for the Digital Deluxe Edition has not been announced yet.
However, fans can expect to see the first gameplay trailer on Tuesday, February 4. While a legendary player is rumored to grace the cover, it’s not always the case for the series.
The last time a legend was featured on the Digital Deluxe Edition cover was in 2023, with Derek Jeter making a return to the series and receiving his own Moments feature.
MLB The Show 25 Feature Updates
The Road to the Show mode has received significant attention, and fans can anticipate some behind-the-scenes updates for Franchise mode. While major changes aren’t expected for this mode, there are still exciting updates to look forward to.
I am particularly eager to see the new content and approach for Diamond Dynasty. Changes in content rollout, collection handling, and the introduction of new series and card types are anticipated.
More details are expected to be revealed on Tuesday, along with a roadmap for feature announcements leading up to the release of the game.
