NFL World Ridicules Giants Following Saquon Barkley’s Domination in NFC Championship Game

Saquon Barkley had an outstanding performance in the Philadelphia Eagles’ NFC Championship victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday night, leading to taunts directed at the New York Giants.

Barkley racked up 118 rushing yards on 15 carries and scored two touchdowns. Both touchdowns were in the first quarter – one of them a 60-yard run that got Eagles fans excited early on.

While the Eagles rejoiced in reaching the Super Bowl for the second time in three years, fans took shots at the Giants for releasing Barkley in the offseason.

New York opted to extend Daniel Jones to a four-year contract before the 2023 season, while giving Barkley a one-year deal. Prior to the 2024 season, the Giants allowed Barkley to become a free agent, much to the dismay of their fans. He ultimately signed with one of their biggest rivals.

Tom Brady and others in the NFL world were quick to point out the Giants’ huge error.

“Giant mistake letting him go,” Brady remarked during the FOX broadcast.

In Barkley’s initial season with Philadelphia, he came close to breaking the single-season rushing yards record. However, he was rested for the Eagles’ final game of the season to prepare for the playoffs. This decision proved vital as Barkley has maintained his stellar play in the postseason.

He has accumulated 442 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns in three playoff games thus far.
