Nissan is switching things up by introducing a day camper concept amidst their lineup of overnight camper van concepts. This concept focuses more on providing a comfortable lounge area and a slide-out coffee bar/entertainment system instead of sleeping and cooking facilities. Sometimes, it’s good to take a break, relax under an umbrella, and let go of all the stress like a refreshing rain.
Nissan has been prolific in unveiling camper vans and leisure vehicle concepts in recent years, with the latest addition being the X-Trail Unwind Concept. This concept follows the trend of non-overnight leisure vehicles like the 2021 Office Pod, aiming to offer a stress-free and relaxing experience for users.
The X-Trail Unwind Concept utilizes the X-Trail’s platform to create a compact yet comfortable outdoor lounging experience. It features a towable sundeck for relaxation outdoors, complete with ergonomic loungers for a comfortable rest under the sun.
The X-Trail Unwind Concept also includes a slide-out espresso bar within the X-Trail itself, equipped with various coffee-making equipment for a unique coffee break experience. While unconventional, the design may pose challenges with equipment stability during travel.
The X-Trail Remastered Concept offers an alternative with a sound system housed in a slide-out setup for music enthusiasts. It integrates a record player and Nissan’s Leaf battery-based power station for an enhanced outdoor music experience.
While these concepts are typically meant for display purposes, Nissan’s track record of turning concepts into production models keeps us guessing. The 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon is currently showcasing these innovative concepts, offering a glimpse of the future of leisure vehicles.
