Novak Djokovic shared his thoughts on the potential of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner to break his records. Alcaraz, ranked No. 3 in the ATP rankings, and Sinner, holding the top spot, have been making waves in the tennis world.
Djokovic, with an impressive 24 Grand Slam titles and an Olympic gold medal, is considered the most successful male player in history. He has always welcomed the new generation of players, supporting talents like Alcaraz and Sinner.
In an interview with GQ Sports, Djokovic mentioned that while some may see his records as unbreakable, he believes that both Alcaraz and Sinner have the potential to surpass him in the future.
“It’s too early. But, you know, people say my records will never be broken. I doubt that. I mean, Carlos could be already the next guy. Even Jannik,” Djokovic said.
He emphasized the importance of fitness and longevity for Alcaraz and Sinner to achieve lasting success on the court.
“If they take care of the body, if they do things in a proper way, focus on longevity, focus on the long-term, then they can do it,” he added.
At just 21 years old, Alcaraz has already secured four Grand Slam titles. Djokovic praised his achievements, noting his potential to complete a career Slam at a young age.
