Welcome to a new decade — and a new look — for Luxury Travel Advisor.
Fear not: Just because we gave ourselves a facelift doesn’t mean we’re straying from our mission to elevate the extraordinary in travel.
Tourism has undergone tectonic shifts in the 20 years since Luxury Travel Advisor launched, and we’re honored you’ve invited us along for every step of the way.

(Luxury Travel Advisor)
When Luxury Travel Advisor was a newborn, paper boarding passes were the norm, and what we now call the “Big Three” of U.S. airlines was more like the “Big Six” (RIP Continental, Northwest and US Airways). Palatial resorts were the pinnacle of luxury back then, and while we still love a grand hotel, today’s high-end movement also embraces integrated, eco-conscious resorts and stealth-wealth home rentals.
Just as travel brands have evolved, so have our travel habits. Twenty years ago, luxury travel for yours truly meant snagging the last available seat on any flight, thanks to my preferred mode of air travel: a standby buddy pass courtesy of my pilot brother. While I’ve since upgraded to buying my own tickets (and enjoying far less airport stress with a confirmed seat!), the industry has upgraded as well.
Paper tickets gave way to biometric screening. Aspirational travelers are now just as critical a focus group as high-net-worth individuals. Spa days have become immersive wellness weeks at luxe resorts.
As we celebrate 20 years of Luxury Travel Advisor, our anniversary issue is as much about looking ahead as it is honoring the past. Our cover star—the $50,000-per-night Manhattan Suite at the Park Hyatt New York—isn’t just a flashy piece of luxury. It’s a nod to the increasingly residential expectations of the high-end traveler. Elsewhere in this issue, we’re exploring the booming business of event tourism as it moves beyond Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” (even if the rest of us Swifties aren’t quite ready to do so). We explore the continued rise of multigenerational travel and are ready to pack our bags to check out the latest in Las Vegas luxury. Though, we also have room for more languid indulgences, like a Nile River cruise.
I’m thrilled to step in as Luxury Travel Advisor’s next steward at such a pivotal moment in the brand’s journey. With a fresh new look, we’re building on a legacy of excellence and continuing our mission to elevate every corner of the luxury travel world.
This redesign isn’t just aesthetic. It’s a reflection of where we’re headed: forward-thinking, globally minded and deeply attuned to the advisors, tastemakers and innovators who make this industry exceptional.
Cheers to the entire Luxury Travel Advisor team and those who got us here over our first 20 years. We’re only just getting started.
