Nvidia introduces new $2,000 RTX 5090 GPU

Nvidia started its CES 2025 keynote by introducing the new RTX Blackwell GPUs, led by the RTX 5090. This card boasts impressive specs, including 92 billion transistors, 4,000 AT TOPS, 380 ray-tracing TFLOPS, and 1.8 TB/s bandwidth.

During the keynote, the RTX 5090 showcased remarkable real-time demos with detailed graphics and full ray tracing, earning accolades from CEO Jensen Huang as a major graphics innovation.

The RTX 5090 comes with a hefty price tag of $2,000, while the RTX 8050, 5070 Ti, and 5070 are priced at $999, $749, and $549 respectively. Laptops with the RTX 5070 will be more budget-friendly compared to the standalone 5090.

Laptops with the high-end Blackwell GPU will start at just under $3,000, offering a premium portable gaming experience.

Addressing previous supply chain challenges, Huang assured that Nvidia is ahead in manufacturing the Blackwell GPUs. The lineup is set to hit the market in January.

Huang highlighted the convergence of GeForce and AI, stating, “We used GeForce to enable AI, and now AI is revolutionizing GeForce.”
