US private equity firm Oaktree Capital Management has acquired US distributor FilmRise and merged it with Shout! Studios to form global distribution platform Radial Entertainment.
Garson Foos, CEO and co-founder of Shout! Studios, will become CEO of Radial Entertainment and Danny Fisher, CEO and co-founder of FilmRise, will become executive chairman.
New York-based FilmRise was founded in 2012 and operates the FilmRise Streaming Network of FAST channels and ad-supported streaming apps. Its feature credits include Train To Busan, Bernie, Manifesto, and My Friend Dahmer.
Oaktree initially invested in Shout! Studios in 2023 and is looking to grow its content portfolio by acquiring entertainment companies and libraries.
Foos said: “We will ensure that the spirit and soul of Shout! will flourish in this new organisation and are thrilled to collaborate with the FilmRise team in taking the combined business to the next level.”
