During a United Airlines flight, a passenger witnessed the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, likening the scene to “Mordor from ‘Lord of the Rings’.”
Mark Viniello shared that as the plane rerouted to Los Angeles International Airport due to high winds, he saw the fiery landscape resembling the antagonist Sauron’s domain in the fantasy epic.
Amid gasps and disbelief from fellow passengers, Viniello described the surreal experience of witnessing the wildfires from above.

Viniello recounted the tense landing as the plane encountered turbulence from the strong winds, leading to a round of applause upon arrival.
California is currently facing multiple wildfires, with significant damage and evacuation orders in place.

Evacuation orders are in place for thousands of residents as the wildfires continue to threaten structures and lives in California.
