Large enterprises are facing the challenge of integrating AI into their platforms and processes. Generative AI requires memory and constant updates to its training data to be effective. This emerging area is referred to as ‘Live AI’, with startups like Cohere, Writer, and Pathway working in this space. Pathway recently secured a $10 million Seed round to develop live AI systems that learn and think in real-time similar to humans.
The funding round was led by TQ Ventures, along with investments from Kadmos, Innovo, Market One Capital, Id4, and angel investors. Notable investor Lukasz Kaiser, co-author of Transformers and a key researcher at OpenAI, also supports Pathway.
Pathway offers ‘infrastructure components’ that power live AI systems by processing structured and unstructured data, enabling enterprise AI platforms to make decisions based on current information. Customers such as NATO and La Poste, the French post office, are already benefiting from Pathway’s solutions.
Co-Founder and CEO of Pathway, Zuzanna Stamirowska, explained that their technology allows developers to incorporate live data into AI systems during the prompt building stage, addressing the challenge of enhancing memory and knowledge retention in AI systems.
Stamirowska, alongside CSO Adrian Kosowski and CTO Jan Chorowski, comprises a strong technical team with experience in AI and deep learning. With a vision to revolutionize the AI landscape, Pathway aims to excel in the GenAI engineering and knowledge management sectors, standing alongside competitors like Cohere and Writer.
Commenting on Pathway’s progress, Schuster Tanger from TQ Ventures praised the team’s expertise in the evolving field of AI, highlighting their unique insights and strong developer community support.
