In the AFC Championship game, Patrick Mahomes may have regretted his celebratory spike of the football after his second touchdown run.
Mahomes faked a handoff and ran the ball to the right, using blockers to push through and score. Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin missed the tackle, allowing Mahomes to reach the end zone.

While celebrating with Travis Kelce, Mahomes attempted to spike the ball but ended up fumbling it, sending it rolling to the sideline. He later apologized for the mishap on X.
“I also apologize. That is why i dont try to spike the ball,” he wrote with cry-laughing emojis.

Mahomes had two rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown in the game, with impressive stats both in the air and on the ground.
His postseason performance has set records, as he surpassed Damien Williams for the most rushing touchdowns in Chiefs postseason history and Joe Montana for second-most postseason wins in NFL history.
