Pep Guardiola is urging his Manchester City team to deliver a “special performance” to rescue their Champions League campaign.
The 2023 champions have fallen out of the top 24 in the league phase with only two wins in their first seven matches. They must now defeat Club Brugge at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday to continue in the competition.
“Our situation requires a victory in this game to progress in the competition,” said Guardiola. “It’s not a problem, but rather an opportunity and challenge that we are prepared to face.
“While we would like to score early in the first 20 minutes, we understand the game requires a calm and strategic approach without getting too emotional.
“In these crucial moments, we must bring something special to the table, a quality that has been lacking in our Champions League performances so far.”
