A suspect has been apprehended in a seemingly random face-slashing incident in an upscale area of New York City.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed the arrest of 25-year-old Joshua Zinberg on Thursday at noon to Fox News Digital.

Authorities disclosed that Zinberg, a resident of the Upper West Side, was identified by his mother who recognized him in surveillance footage released by the police.

He is facing charges of second-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to the NYPD.
