Politico editor John Harris declares Trump as the most influential American of his time

According to Politico global editor-in-chief John F. Harris, President Donald Trump’s second victory signifies his dominance in American politics, positioning him as one of the most significant leaders in the nation’s history.

Harris clarified that his statement does not categorize Trump as inherently good or evil, nor does it imply that Trump’s presidency has been successful. Nevertheless, he emphasized the profound impact Trump has had on American politics.

“He is a force of history,” Harris declared in his recent column published on Tuesday.

Harris stated that Trump’s recent inauguration casts him in a new perspective, asserting that the president unequivocally holds substantial power, positioning him as the most influential American figure of his time.

Harris described Trump’s impact as “an objective assessment of his accomplishments,” citing his initial dominance within the GOP and subsequent influence over broader American political discourse.

Despite facing criticism for nearly a decade, Trump’s second electoral success validates his enduring relevance, challenging opponents to acknowledge his enduring political prowess.

Furthermore, opponents cannot disregard Trump as a mere anomaly or dismiss him as lawless; they must confront his movement with equally compelling arguments.

Harris highlighted Trump’s distinctive qualities akin to historically significant presidents, noting his ability to redefine the national discourse, particularly on trade, China, and corporate governance.

He also emphasized Trump’s communication skills and utilization of technology, traits synonymous with influential presidents of the past.

Additionally, Trump’s resilience and mental fortitude mirror characteristics trait of impactful presidents throughout history.

While acknowledging that Trump might be viewed contentiously in the future, Harris underscored the need for opponents to recognize and counter his substantial historical influence.

Trump’s potential to unify the nation remains unproven, necessitating a new approach to resolving conflicts and fostering national cohesion in the coming years.
