President-elect Donald Trump appoints former Space Force commander to serve alongside Hegseth as Air Force undersecretary

President-elect Donald Trump announced Friday night that a former fighter pilot will serve as the next United States Undersecretary of the Air Force.

Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier, a former U.S. Space Force commander, discussed military readiness on Fox News in July, claiming he was fired for criticizing the “Marxist” DEI complex.

Lohmeier, a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate, served in the military for over a decade before transitioning to the Space Force in 2020, focusing on missile warning systems.

Trump praised Lohmeier in the nomination announcement, emphasizing Lohmeier’s dedication to serving the nation.

Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Matthew will work with the GREAT Secretary of Defense Nominee, Pete Hegseth, to end the devastating ‘woke’ policies that have destroyed our Military, and make our Country STRONG AGAIN. Congratulations Matthew!”
