Reports indicate that Eric Bieniemy is making his return to the NFL. According to CBS Sports, Bieniemy has accepted the position of running backs coach with the Chicago Bears.
Bieniemy joins the Bears’ coaching staff under new head coach Ben Johnson. He previously served as the offensive coordinator at UCLA during their inaugural season in the Big Ten Conference.

Before his coaching career, Bieniemy was a successful college running back and a second-round NFL Draft pick in 1991. He also coached running backs at Colorado, his alma mater, from 2001-2002.

His coaching journey took him to UCLA and the Minnesota Vikings before finding success as the Chiefs’ offensive coordinator.
After his successful tenure with the Chiefs, Bieniemy joined the Washington Commanders as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator. He is now set to bring his experience to the Bears’ coaching staff in Chicago.

With the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, Bieniemy’s focus is now on his new role with the Bears. The Chiefs will face the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9.
