Real Madrid is said to be interested in acquiring Girona’s Ladislav Krejci as a center-back. They are aiming to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu either in January or the summer of 2025.
Los Blancos have faced a number of injuries since last season, especially in defense. Eder Militao, who suffered an ACL injury last season, is now out for this season due to another ACL injury in his other knee. David Alaba, who also endured the same injury last year, is yet to return to play.
With only Antonio Rudiger as a dependable senior center-back, and Jesus Vallejo falling out of favor, Real Madrid is in need of reinforcements. As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Krejci has been identified as a target.
The Czechia international recently joined Girona from Sparta Prague and has impressed with 15 appearances, along with two goals and one assist. His performances have caught the attention of top clubs, given that his contract with Girona runs until 2029.
Carlo Ancelotti Updates on Defender’s Fitness after Real Madrid’s Win Over Girona
Real Madrid secured a 3-0 victory over Girona at the Montilivi Stadium in LaLiga on Saturday, December 7. Jude Bellingham opened the scoring in the 36th minute, followed by Arda Guler and Kylian Mbappe with additional goals.
Raul Ascenio did not start the game but came on for the last 11 minutes, as Carlo Ancelotti opted for Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni in defense against Girona. When asked about Ascenio not starting, Ancelotti mentioned it was due to fatigue after a quick turnaround from the previous match against Bilbao, praising Ascenio’s qualities and reliability.
Ascencio has been a key figure in Real Madrid’s defense this season, making six appearances and providing an assist. He is expected to feature in the upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Atalanta on Tuesday, December 10.
