Ricky Evans shocks Dave Chisnall at World Darts Championship while Rob Cross eliminated at Alexandra Palace | Darts News

Dave Chisnall was eliminated from the World Darts Championship in a thrilling final-leg defeat to Ricky Evans, as former world champion Rob Cross also suffered a surprise loss in an eventful session at Alexandra Palace.

Chisnall, after winning the opening set, had to fight back from a 2-1 deficit to force the match into a final set, where both players survived match darts in extra legs. Evans eventually clinched the match with a final-leg victory, knocking out another seed in the process.

In a dramatic pre-Christmas session, Daryl Gurney won a final-set decider against Florian Hempel while Gian Van Veen, the world youth champion, was defeated by Ricardo Pietreczko. Cross was then beaten by Scott Williams, marking a record-breaking 14 seeded players being eliminated in the second round.

The action continues with the third round matchups, including Gurney facing Jonny Clayton and Williams taking on Luke Humphries, the defending champion. Stay tuned for more thrilling matches at the exciting World Darts Championship!
