Fox News host Sean Hannity criticizes House Republicans over the stopgap funding bill released to prevent a government shutdown in his opening monologue on “Hannity” on Wednesday. The U.S. national debt has surpassed $36 trillion as of Wednesday, with a projected $2 trillion deficit for 2025.
SEAN HANNITY: It seems that Donald Trump will face yet another challenge in the Biden era when he assumes office in January, possibly involving a government shutdown.Â
The continuing resolution in Congress is a disaster. It’s difficult to believe that elected officials believe the government will continue as usual after this election. This bill would fund the government until March but at what cost? Why should Donald Trump have to raise the debt ceiling when it’s Joe Biden’s problem?
The bill is over 1,500 pages and includes extravagant spending on pet projects. It extends the federal bureaucracy and funds new offices and committees.Â

The bill also includes giving National Guard fighter jets to Maryland and transferring ownership of RFK Stadium to Washington, D.C. It also impacts imports and imposes bans that raise questions. And to top it off, there’s a pay increase for members of Congress.
