SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Sioux Falls Regional Airport is officially moving forward with a scaled-down expansion that will add more gates and new passenger amenities.
According to Sioux Falls.Business, the airport authority board approved the first two construction bids, clearing the way for a new concourse, restrooms, and apron work.
The base plan increases gate capacity from 7 to12 and addresses crowding during peak hours.
Airport officials say passenger traffic has steadily grown, and this project is crucial to keeping up with demand.
Construction could begin as early as August.
