Shenzhen multinational Tecno is launching a new line of AI-driven glasses to compete with Meta Ray-Bans in the wearable camera market. The Tecno AI Glass Series, unveiled at the Mobile World Congress expo, consists of two models: a standard version and a Pro version. These glasses feature advanced imaging technology borrowed from Tecno’s Camon 40 Premier smartphone, offering industry-leading resolution and augmented reality capabilities.
The heart of the AI Glass Series is its custom lens modules and OV50D imaging sensor, combined with signal processing and advanced imaging algorithms from Tecno’s flagship smartphone. The glasses boast a 50-megapixel pixel count, making them the world’s highest resolution AI glasses photography system.
Exclusive filters and a SmartSnap feature enhance the photo-taking experience, while the Pro model includes WaveGuide technology for augmented reality displays. Physical controls on the arms allow for easy interaction, including activating Tecno’s Ella AI assistant for voice commands and smart help. The glasses are made of magnesium-alloy and composites, and feature frame-integrated speakers, a 250-mAh battery, and connectivity options like Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4.
Although pricing and availability details have not been disclosed, Tecno’s AI Glasses are expected to offer a competitive alternative to Meta Ray-Bans in the smart glasses market.
