Ohio State quarterback Will Howard confirmed that his non-throwing hand is “fine” after social media users noticed a strange lump on it during the Cotton Bowl game against Texas.
The 23-year-old Howard seemed to injure his left hand during the first half of the game.
CBS Sports reported that the knot on his hand developed after he hit it on a Longhorns player’s helmet.
Social media went abuzz over the unusual-looking injury, with the lump appearing to increase in size.
During the game, ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe mentioned that Howard did not receive treatment for the lump. After Ohio State’s win, ESPN’s Jake Trotter revealed that Howard affirmed his hand is “just fine.”
