A Silicon Valley CEO is facing multiple charges after a woman accused an investment firm mogul of assaulting and raping her in downtown San Francisco.
Booking records show that Andrei Karkar, the CEO of ERAS Holdings, was arrested on Saturday for suspicion of rape, robbery, false imprisonment, and assault with a deadly weapon.
Police officers from the San Francisco Police Department responded to reports of a sexual assault downtown around 9 a.m. on Saturday.
A police spokesperson confirmed that a woman reported being forcibly raped and assaulted at the scene.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries, according to the police.
After an investigation, Karkar was identified as the suspect by the authorities.

Authorities have not disclosed how Karkar was identified as the suspect.
Karkar was taken into custody at the San Francisco County Jail on charges that include rape, false imprisonment, assault, robbery, and damaging a communication device.

The SFPD Special Victims Unit is investigating the incident, and it continues to be an active case despite the arrest.

Andrei Karkar’s father, Edward Karkar, established “Karkar Electronics” in 1959, a telecommunications company specializing in voice and data communications.
According to the company’s website, Edward is considered a “Silicon Valley pioneer.”
Andrei Karkar, a graduate of Georgetown University, is involved in various philanthropic activities and supports the arts, sciences, and the environment, as per his biography on the company’s website.
Fox News Digital reached out to both the San Francisco district attorney’s office and Karkar’s attorney for comment, but there was no immediate response.
