Students from Antioch High School share their experiences of the chaotic shooting, while the victim’s family speaks out

A student at Antioch High School in Tennessee says he witnessed people being shot on the ground as he and his classmates rushed for the exits during the tragic attack that occurred there yesterday.

Details of the chaotic events that unfolded inside the Nashville school on Wednesday are now being revealed as investigators seek to determine a motive behind the attack. Authorities report that a 17-year-old student shooter, who had posted alarming content online, fatally shot Josselin Corea Escalante, 16, and injured another student before taking his own life.

“We were in the cafeteria getting lunch like any other day when we heard gunfire in the front. People started screaming and we ran to hide behind the garbage cans,” one student told WSMV as he recounted the terrifying moment.

“I saw people being shot on the ground, bleeding,” he added, describing how he and his friends crouched down and escaped through a side door from the cafeteria.
