The Complete Guide to OpenAI’s ChatGPT Pricing: What You Need to Know

OpenAI’s AI-powered chatbot platform ChatGPT continues to grow with the introduction of new features. This includes a memory feature that allows users to save preferences for more personalized chats. ChatGPT also now offers an upgraded voice mode for more interactive real-time interactions. Additionally, there is a GPT Store where users can find AI-powered applications and services.

When it comes to pricing for ChatGPT, OpenAI offers a variety of subscription plans tailored to different types of users, from individuals to large enterprises.

To help users navigate the different subscription options for ChatGPT, we have created a comprehensive guide to ChatGPT pricing that will be regularly updated as new plans are introduced.

ChatGPT free

The free version of ChatGPT has evolved over time to offer more features and capabilities. Free users now have access to OpenAI’s GPT-4o mini model, content-enhanced responses from the web, access to the GPT Store, and the ability to upload files and photos for analysis. Advanced features like Advanced Voice mode, GPT-4o, and o3-mini are also available to free users, along with the ability to save chat preferences as “memories” and perform advanced data analysis on files such as spreadsheets and PDFs.

However, there are limitations for free users, including daily capacity limits on the GPT-4o model and file uploads, as well as restricted access to certain advanced features.

ChatGPT Plus

For users looking for more advanced capabilities, there is ChatGPT Plus, which is priced at $20 per month. ChatGPT Plus offers higher messaging capacity, access to reasoning models like o3-mini, o1-preview, and o1-mini, and features like Advanced Voice mode with video and screen sharing.

Subscribers to ChatGPT Plus also get limited access to newer tools such as OpenAI’s deep research agent and Sora’s video generation.

Additionally, ChatGPT Plus subscribers get an enhanced data analysis feature powered by GPT-4o that can create interactive charts and tables from datasets.

ChatGPT Pro

For users who want extensive access to OpenAI’s products and features, there is ChatGPT Pro, priced at $200 per month. ChatGPT Pro offers unlimited access to reasoning models, GPT-4o, and Advanced Voice mode, as well as 120 deep research queries per month and access to o1 pro mode.

ChatGPT Pro users also receive access to additional tools like OpenAI’s web-browsing agent, Operator, and more video generation capabilities with Sora.

New features are often released to ChatGPT Pro users first, and they receive priority access to existing features during peak demand times.

ChatGPT Team

Smaller businesses or organizations looking for multiple ChatGPT licenses and collaborative features can consider ChatGPT Team, priced at $30 per user per month or $25 per user per month billed annually for up to 149 users.

ChatGPT Team provides a dedicated workspace and admin tools for team management, access to OpenAI’s latest models, and the ability to build custom apps based on OpenAI models for specific use cases or departments.

ChatGPT Enterprise

Large organizations requiring more than 149 ChatGPT licenses can opt for ChatGPT Enterprise, which offers advanced privacy and data analysis capabilities, enhanced performance, and customization options. ChatGPT Enterprise customers also receive priority access to features, models, and OpenAI expertise.

ChatGPT Edu

ChatGPT Edu is designed for universities, students, faculty, and campus operations teams, offering features similar to ChatGPT Enterprise with additional support for SCIM.

OpenAI for Nonprofits

Nonprofits can access discounted rates for ChatGPT Team and ChatGPT Enterprise through OpenAI for Nonprofits program.

Eligibility requirements apply for nonprofits looking to take advantage of the discounted rates offered by OpenAI for Nonprofits.
