‘The View’ star Joy Behar ripped for ‘hurtful’ shaming comment

Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel is not happy with “The View” co-host Joy Behar, and it sounds like she has a pretty good reason to be upset.

Frankel said that Behar, 82, targeted her while talking about a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit show in Miami.

“Joy Behar took a swipe at me on ‘The View,’” the 54-year-old Frankel said in a video shared to TikTok. “Whoopi mentioned that I was talking about the show saying that none of us looked two hours prior. It took a lot of work and glam teams. And Joy’s response was, ‘I appreciate her candor, but she has fake boobs.’ And, these are a lift from maybe 15 or 20 years ago. I had very large breasts in high school. They were just saggy, floppy, so this is actually a lift, Joy.

“But the thing that show really illustrated was that women my age and older, women of a certain age, can live their lives freely with happiness and with Joy and that we are not washed up, miserable older women,” she continued. “And I actually feel sorry for Joy that she hasn’t lived her life or doesn’t seem to be living her life with any joy because you have to be really miserable to take a swipe at something that is literally self-deprecating and literally leveling the playing field saying, yeah, we all look like this, but we had a lot of work that day.”

Frankel was not done.

“But she had to like kick someone when they were already saying that they were down,” she continued. “Like, I’m already saying that I’m down. I could decide to perpetuate everyday looking like that, but I want to look just like you guys and show you on those days we can bring it. So, sadly Joy is painting the picture of the older, seemingly miserable, washed-up woman that all of us are trying to show that we aren’t.

“So, you keep being happy,” she added. “You keep living your life. You keep being the example of a woman of a certain age that you would be proud of. And we have women like Joy Behar that remind us of who we don’t want to be.”

Frankel told US Weekly that Behar did not apologize.

“It’s so much less important about her,” she said. “What’s important is that there is this deus — traditional media has this deus — of people that get to have the last word.

“It does sting.”
