U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle faced extensive questioning from lawmakers on Capitol Hill Monday regarding the security lapse that allowed the assassination attempt on former President Trump.
Testifying before the House Oversight Committee, chaired by James Comer, R-Ky., Cheatle was subpoenaed to appear.

Cheatle testified before the House Oversight Committee just days after the attempted assassination of Trump at a rally in Butler, Pa., where a bullet narrowly missed him.
The bullet hit firefighter Corey Comperatore, killing him as he shielded his family, and injuring two others.
Cheatle admitted under oath that the Secret Service “failed” on July 13.
