Trump comments on purported Iranian assassination plot: ‘Unusual circumstances’

Former President Donald Trump spoke about Iran’s assassination plots against him during an event in North Carolina, questioning the heavy security detail provided to the Iranian president during his visit to the United Nations.

Trump brought up the potential Iranian plot while discussing job creation in Mint Hill, near Charlotte.

“It’s strange that the Iranian president is being heavily guarded in our country while they are threatening our former president and the leading candidate to be the next president. It’s a peculiar situation,” Trump remarked.
