President Donald Trump mentioned the possibility of seeking a third term in the White House during a phone interview with NBC News on Sunday, stating that “there are methods” that could potentially allow him to do so. Source.

The 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution, which was put into effect following Franklin D. Roosevelt’s fourth term win in 1944, restricts US presidents from serving more than two terms. The process for amending the Constitution is lengthy.
“A lot of people want me to do it,” Trump mentioned, noting that he will be 81 years old at the conclusion of his current term. He chose not to elaborate on the methods through which he could potentially serve a third term. Trump was initially elected in 2016, then defeated by Joe Biden in 2020 before being reelected in 2024.
