In 2020, President Trump sent Vladimir Putin Covid test machines from Abbott Point of Care for personal use.
The Trump campaign dismissed Woodward’s book, obtained by CNN, as entirely fiction.
However, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov confirmed the receipt of the Covid machines.
“Peskov stated that at the beginning of the pandemic, countries faced equipment shortages and mutually sent support shipments,”
Russia even sent the Trump administration 60 tons of medical equipment in the spring of 2020.
Woodward quotes the Russian leader telling Trump not to disclose certain information, as it may upset people.

Peskov denied Woodward’s claim of ongoing communications between Trump and Putin post-presidency.
However, in Woodward’s book “War,” there is a described encounter where Trump privately speaks with Putin.
The former president had previously cooperated with Woodward, but their relationship soured when Woodward critiqued Trump’s suitability for office.
Woodward’s credibility is affirmed, as he does not fabricate stories despite potential source misinformation.
Additional sections in the book highlight Biden confronting Putin about Ukraine, Harris advising Zelenskyy, and officials considering nuclear threat possibilities.
In heated exchanges, Trump criticized Netanyahu post-invasion and made disparaging remarks about Woodward.
The back-and-forth exchanges intensify, with Trump hitting back at various public figures, including radio hosts and Fox News.
