President-elect Trump has announced several appointments to his administration on Thursday. This includes the team that will work with his nominee for the U.S. Treasury, Scott Bessent.
Ken Kies will serve as assistant secretary for tax policy, as announced by Trump on Truth Social.
Kies, a tax lawyer with 47 years of experience, has previously served as the chief of staff for the Joint Committee on Taxation and the chief Republican tax counsel of the House Ways and Means Committee.
Another addition to the team is Alexandra Preate, who Trump appointed as senior counsel to the secretary.

Trump described Preate as an accomplished executive in public relations.
Furthermore, Hunter McMaster was appointed as the director of policy planning, and Daniel Katz as the chief of staff.
Katz, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a Yale graduate, also previously served as a senior adviser at the Treasury Department, as per Trump’s announcement.
Samantha Schwab, who previously worked in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs, was appointed as deputy chief of staff in the Treasury Department.

Trump expressed his confidence in the team, calling them incredible hardworking Patriots committed to “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”
Aside from the Treasury Department appointments, Trump revealed Benjamin Leon James as the next U.S. ambassador to Spain.
According to Trump, Benjamin is a successful entrepreneur, equestrian, and philanthropist, who started from humble beginnings in Communist Cuba.

Additionally, Joe Popolo was appointed as the next U.S. ambassador to the Netherlands. Popolo’s achievements include transforming the Freeman Company into the world’s leading live event brand experience company.
Popolo also serves as founder and CEO of Charles & Potomac Capital, LLC, chairman of the board of Pinnacle Live, LLC, and board member of Ondas Holdings.
Trump highlighted Popolo’s accolades, including winning the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Dallas Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO Award, as well as his contributions to the Boston College community and support for the arts in the Vatican Museum.

Cora Alvi was appointed as Trump’s deputy chief of staff. Alvi’s most recent role was as the national deputy finance director for Donald J. Trump for President Inc., according to Trump.
