Trump, Vance, Biden, and MSNBC Host Criticize Media from Every Angle

If there was any lingering doubt, it is now clear that everyone hates the media.

This may not come as a surprise, especially given the media’s declining credibility, particularly in relation to Donald Trump and the recent assassination attempt which further fueled the already intense atmosphere of distrust.

Traditionally, Republicans and conservatives have felt unfairly treated by the press, viewing it as biased towards the opposing party. However, with Democrats and liberals currently in power, they too are becoming disillusioned with media coverage.

New technology allows both sides to bypass mainstream media and communicate directly with voters through social media and video content, avoiding the need for journalists to ask probing questions.

TRUMP SURVIVES SHOOTING, BUT THE POLITICALLY CHARGED BLAME GAME NEVER FADES

Take JD Vance, Trump’s new running mate, who was chosen in part for his effective television appearances. During an interview with Sean Hannity, Vance addressed his past criticisms of Trump and acknowledged being swayed by media narratives:

“I believed in the media’s distortions and lies. I thought Trump posed a serious threat to democracy. It was all a joke.”

The conversation then shifted to Joe Biden, with Vance accusing him of actions undermining American law and order.

This brings to mind the time Trump called for NBC and CNN to face consequences for their coverage of his Iowa caucus victory speech. In an interview at Mar-a-Lago, Trump focused on the perceived injustice of not receiving the attention he believed he deserved.

Trump’s relentless attacks on the media as the “enemy of the people” and his personal vilification of journalists as “third-rate” or their organizations as “failing” have set him apart. He sees himself as pushing back against years of negative portrayals by the media.

Switching gears to the other side, during an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt defending his mental acuity, Biden questioned the media’s coverage of Trump:

“Why doesn’t the press talk about all the lies he told? I didn’t hear anything about that.”

“We have,” replied Holt. “We have reported on many of the issues from that debate.”

“No, you haven’t,” Biden rebutted.

“We will provide you with them,” promised Holt.

“Oh, God love you,” an exasperated Biden responded.

Biden seems to agree with the narrative that the press is not holding Trump to the same standards. Even some of his supporters on the left are expressing dissatisfaction with the media.

MSNBC host Joy Reid voiced concerns about the media’s role in shaping the narrative and their potential failure to challenge Trump’s attempts to rewrite history.

Despite Reid’s claims, it’s hard to believe that the media would deny the events of the past few years or allow Trump to distort the truth without challenge.

These remarks were made by Reid following the attempted assassination of the former president, showing more anger towards the media than compassion.
