President Biden is concluding his time in the White House on a “sad” note, accused of “lying to the nation” and wrongly taking credit for brokering a cease-fire deal between Israel and Hamas, as stated by a Trump transition official during his farewell address on Wednesday evening.
“Joe Biden is leaving in a sad manner, deceiving the nation and attempting to claim credit for an agreement attributed by all sides to President Trump. Biden had more than a year to secure the release of hostages and peace. He failed, while Trump succeeded,” a Trump transition official informed Fox News Digital on Wednesday evening.
Conflict has been ongoing in the Middle East since October 2023, with Israel and Hamas coming to a ceasefire agreement on Wednesday that also involved the release of hostages.
Biden gave his final address to the nation on Wednesday evening, where he emphasized the cease-fire as an achievement in his opening remarks.
“My fellow Americans, I’m speaking to you tonight from the Oval Office. Before I begin, let me speak to important news from earlier today. After eight months of nonstop negotiation, my administration – by my administration – a cease-fire and hostage deal has been reached by Israel and Hamas. The elements of which I laid out in great detail in May of this year,” Biden said.
