MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Miami Dolphins training camp kicked off Tuesday, bringing fans one step closer to football season and a closer look at a team entering 2025 with a retooled roster and renewed focus.
Veterans joined rookies who arrived last week, setting the stage for the first full practice of camp.
With multiple position battles and a major offseason overhaul, questions remain — but one constant is wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who is aiming to be a stronger presence on and off the field.
Hill addressed the “I’m out” comment he made following a season-ending loss to the New York Jets that left Miami with an 8-9 record and out of the playoffs.
He said he spent the offseason not only working on football, but also on himself.
“I realized that I gotta continue to grind, man,” Hill said. “Just being present every day on time. Like doing things extra like catching footballs at the practice. Whenever I’m tired, being that vocal leader in the locker room, for guys, just being the dude that Miami paid me to be and what I know I can be and my family know what I can be. So that’s me in a nutshell.”
Hill said leadership is important for the locker room, for his children, and for the South Florida community.
The Dolphins also welcomed veteran tight end Darren Waller, who came out of retirement this offseason.
Hill said Waller has already made “an immediate impact in the locker room,” which he believes is exactly what the team needs.
As camp continues, players and coaches alike will be under the spotlight as Miami looks to take the next step and return to the playoffs.
