Drew Rosenhaus, agent for Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill, has dispelled rumors of a trade involving his client. This clarification comes in the aftermath of Hill’s controversial departure during the team’s last game against the New York Jets.
Hill, an eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, stirred up trade speculations by exiting Sunday’s game. This action followed a disappointing season where he recorded career-low statistics with only 81 catches for 959 yards.
Addressing The Pat McAfee Show on January 9, 2025, Rosenhaus shared undisclosed information about Hill’s loyalty to the Dolphins;

“Tyreek Hill broke his wrist in a scrimmage against the Commanders in Training Camp. He wasn’t gonna miss the season & he wanted to play. He’s committed to the Miami Dolphins & he had an excellent meeting with Chris Grier & Mike McDaniel,” said Rosenhaus.

The impact of the wrist injury on Tyreek Hill’s performance was apparent. His 959 receiving yards represented his lowest output in a full season since his rookie year with Kansas City in 2016. This followed two consecutive 1,700-yard seasons in Miami.
Agent says Tyreek Hill was emotional
Rosenhaus addressed Hill’s emotional reaction after Sunday’s game, where the receiver expressed, “I’m out, bro. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I got to do what’s best for my career.”
“Tyreek Hill was emotional after the game & the guys on the Dolphins know he’s a great competitor. We represent thirteen guys on this team & not one of them has a complaint about Tyreek,” emphasized Rosenhaus.
Dolphins GM Chris Grier confirmed that Hill has not made any trade requests. Head coach Mike McDaniel had a one-hour meeting with Hill to address his premature exit from the game;
“I was very direct with him… that it’s not acceptable to leave a game and won’t be tolerated in the future, and he embraced accountability,” said McDaniel.
The situation showcases the mounting pressure on Hill, who signed a lucrative three-year, $90 million extension before the 2024 season. His contract includes $59 million in guaranteed money and has significant salary cap implications – $28.7 million in 2025 and $51.9 million in 2026.
Providing context to Hill’s struggles, quarterback Tagovailoa was limited due to concussion and hip injuries, leaving the receiver to work with backup quarterbacks Tyler Huntley and Skylar Thompson for a significant portion of the season.
