Vice President Vance Addresses March for Life, Calls it a ‘Blessing to Advocate for the Unborn’

Vice President JD Vance expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to advocate for the rights of the unborn during his address to pro-life activists at the March for Life in Washington, D.C. He described it as “a joy and a blessing” to be able to participate in the event.

In his first public appearance since taking office as vice president, Vance emphasized the sacredness of every child and the importance of protecting their lives as gifts from God.

Vance commended the dedication of the marchers who showed up despite the harsh weather conditions, contrasting it with the need to move the inauguration indoors earlier in the week due to the cold. He praised the crowd for their joyful and passionate presence at the National Mall, expressing his appreciation on behalf of himself and President Trump.

The vice president reassured the crowd that the government would not target pro-life advocates and expressed a commitment to protecting their rights, referencing previous incidents of government intrusion.

Vance reaffirmed his support for increasing the birth rate in the country and creating a welcoming environment for families to raise children.

Prior to Vance’s speech, House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., reiterated the commitment of House and Senate Republicans to protecting the rights of the unborn.

Johnson highlighted the efforts of Congress members to defend fundamental freedoms, including religious liberty and the sanctity of human life, aligning with Vance’s message.

The speaker praised President Trump’s actions in pardoning pro-life activists and emphasized the resolve of the new administration in upholding these values.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis encouraged attendees to advocate for the rights of the unborn and emphasized the enduring truth of the sanctity of life, regardless of public opinion.

DeSantis highlighted the foundational principle of equality and the right to life as enshrined in the Declaration of Independence.
