Video from the U.S. Coast Guard captures the moment three boaters were rescued after their boat capsized off the coast of Florida recently.
The rescue operation happened on Sunday after the Coast Guard received a call to locate three overdue boaters near Captiva Island.
A relative of one of the boaters contacted the Coast Guard at around 1 a.m. on Sunday, reporting that the last contact with the boaters was at 8 p.m. on Saturday, and that they were on a 20-foot center console boat.
A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 helicopter aircrew was dispatched to search for the missing boaters following the report.

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued three stranded boaters over the weekend after their boat capsized off the coast of Florida.
The video shows the crew discovering the three missing boaters perched on top of their overturned boat – all in good condition.

The boaters were reported missing by a family member after they had not been in contact since Saturday night.
The aircrew also requested assistance from the Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach boat crew, who reached the location and safely transferred all three boaters onboard.
Subsequently, they were taken to emergency medical services at the Coast Guard station for assessment.

Coast Guard crews located and rescued three overdue boaters near Captiva after their boat capsized.
“Thanks to the swift coordination between the Coast Guard and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, along with the use of essential search tools, we were able to locate and rescue the three boaters,” said Chief Warrant Officer Dennise Werre of Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg in a statement.

“It is crucial to create a float plan with a loved one before heading out on a vessel. Float plans provide first responders with crucial information such as the planned route, number of individuals on board, and available safety equipment.”
Authorities were uncertain about the cause of the boat capsizing.
