Viewers Call Out Editing Issues in Love Island USA

It looks like fans are concerned with more than just love triangles and drama on Love Island USA. Several eagle-eyed viewers have noticed editing inconsistencies and have shared their thoughts on social media about the oversights. Looks like they are watching very closely.

Season 7 is in full swing. Fans have been on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, couplings and un-couplings, and even “journeys” (IYKYK). And not only are they watching the different couples navigate the game, they’re also keeping an eye on what happens in and around the villa. And they are noticing some discrepancies.

Love Island USA viewers spotted editing errors

More than once, fans have pointed out some gaffes that have left them wondering about the show’s editing process. Editing is such a big issue in reality TV after all. Many reality stars blame looking bad on bad editing. And then some think the editing is pretty good, like Jeremiah Brown who was eliminated earlier.

However, fans remain unimpressed by certain editing errors they’ve caught online. One TikTok user noticed that Casa Amor bombshell Jaden Duggar’s hairstyle changed mid-confessional while she was talking about her and Nic Vansteenberghe. In the first clip she sported braids and in the second she was braid-less.

“Magically took out her braids?” the TikTok user noted. “How did her braids disappear?”

Another user shared a video from the June 26 episode where Clarke Carraway was in a black bikini hanging out around the villa. A few moments later, after showing other folks, the camera cuts back to Clarke now wearing a one-piece brown bathing suit. The error indicated that the footage may not have been taken at the same time.

Another scene from the show showed TJ Palma having a conversation with Vanna Einerson as she sipped something in an orange drinking glass. In the same chat and the same clothes, Vanna was seen using a teal drinking glass indicating a swap.

“I just wanna know what’s happening in between,” a TikTok user commented.

It makes sense, viewers are wondering about the continuity of the shots and if anything may or may not have been re-shot to look or feel a certain way. After all, there are enough twists and turns in the show. Fans don’t want to have to guess how the editing frames the narrative.

We’ll have to wait and see if the show addresses any of the call outs.

Love Island USA is available to stream on Peacock, with new episodes airing every day except Wednesdays.
