Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a Republican, joined a news program to discuss President Donald Trump’s handling of illegal immigration compared to his predecessor.
Youngkin’s appearance follows the arrest of Henrry Josue Villatoro Santos, a top MS-13 gang member who had been in the U.S. for over a decade in Virginia.
Santos was apprehended on an outstanding warrant and charged with illegal gun possession after a search of his residence.
Youngkin played a crucial role in supporting an interagency task force with organizations like the FBI and the Department of Justice.

In a few weeks, the task force has apprehended 28 MS-13 gang members, 19 Tren de Aragua gang members, and numerous other members involved in transnational organized crime.

Speaking on the news program, Youngkin criticized Biden for turning America into a sanctuary state and commended President Trump for his strict approach to illegal immigration.
“Today, through the collaboration of state police, our Department of Corrections, Homeland Security, the FBI, ICE, and other agencies, we successfully apprehended one of the top MS-13 operators in America,” Youngkin stated. “And I can proudly say that Virginia is now safer.”

Youngkin mentioned the lack of cooperation between the state and federal government during the Biden administration.

“I didn’t have it for three years. And as soon as President Trump showed up, we went to work,” Youngkin emphasized. “And we’re making America and Virginia safer.”
