VP Harris remains tight-lipped, abstains from disclosing policy positions or holding news conferences/interviews for 38 days

Vice President Kamala Harris’ interview hiatus is coming to an end after 38 days since she became the Democratic Party’s de facto nominee.

Under pressure to finally sit down for an interview, she has agreed to speak with CNN’s Dana Bash on Thursday. Her running mate, Tim Walz, will also participate in the interview, which will be recorded that day and aired on Thursday night.

Despite previous promises, Harris had not scheduled an interview until now, with her last public comment being on Aug. 9 stating her intention to have an interview by the end of the month. It has taken 18 days since that statement for an interview to be confirmed.

Speculation arises on whether Harris will eventually have a formal press conference. Fox News contributor Joe Concha predicts that there won’t be any press conferences from Harris in the next 75 days until Election Day.

Former President Trump has been in stark contrast, conducting multiple lengthy interviews and hosting press conferences, emphasizing the difference in media availability between the two candidates.
