The Washington Post made changes to a report on Monday following questions about citing a pro-Palestinian group designated a “sham charity” for a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.
Over the weekend, the Post published an article about the Palestinians released from Israeli custody in a hostage agreement with Hamas.
“The Post mentioned Samidoun, an activist network supporting Palestinian prisoners, in the article, linking to a Samidoun piece from earlier in the week,” the Post wrote.
However, the Biden administration singled out Samidoun in October for ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), recognized as a terrorist organization by several countries, including the U.S. and the EU.

“In a coordinated effort with Canada, the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) identified the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, or ‘Samidoun,’ as a fake charity aiding the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist group,” read an Oct. 15, 2024 press release.
“The PFLP, labeled a Foreign Terrorist Organization and a Specially Designated Global Terrorist by the U.S. Department of State in October 1997 and 2001, respectively, leverages Samidoun for fundraising in Europe and North America.”
