West Ham are currently in advanced negotiations with RB Leipzig for the acquisition of striker Andre Silva, as reported by Sky Germany.
The proposed deal involves a loan agreement until the end of the season, which includes an option to buy.
The talks are ongoing and have been labeled as positive.
The Portugal national team player, Silva, has earned 53 caps for his country and scored 19 goals.
Silva, who began his professional career at Porto, has previously played for AC Milan, Sevilla, and Eintracht Frankfurt.
West Ham is also showing interest in Ajax’s Brian Brobbey as they seek a new striker.
Villa rejects West Ham’s bid for Duran
Aston Villa has turned down West Ham’s offer for striker Jhon Duran.
Reports suggest that the offer was £57m, but other sources claim this figure is inaccurate. Villa is unwilling to sell and values Duran at over £70m.
West Ham has been keen on Duran for some time, and new manager Graham Potter is a big admirer of the player.
Although the Hammers attempted to sign Duran in the previous window, they failed to meet Villa’s valuation. Duran has since extended his contract with Villa until 2030. A striker is a top priority for West Ham in this transfer window.
The 21-year-old has scored seven goals in 19 Premier League appearances this season, with Ollie Watkins often preferred as the main forward.
Duran joined Villa Park from MLS team Chicago Fire in January 2023, but he has started only seven of his 54 league matches.
