Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged its allies to take action before North Korean troops deployed in Russia join the battlefield. The country’s army chief warned that Ukrainian troops are facing a powerful offensive from Moscow.
Zelenskyy mentioned the possibility of a preemptive strike on North Korean training camps and revealed that Ukraine is aware of their locations. However, permission from allies is needed to use Western-made long-range weapons to target these camps inside Russia.
Western leaders have expressed concerns over the escalation caused by the North Korean troop deployment and its potential impacts on the Asia Pacific region. Ukrainian leaders stress the need for permission to use Western weapons to strike deeper targets in Russia to push for peace talks with Moscow.
The situation escalated when Russian missiles hit Kharkiv and other regions of Ukraine, resulting in casualties and injuries. Both sides continue to engage in conflicts, with reports of drone attacks and air raid sirens in the capital city of Kyiv.
